Last week, our director Shelley had the privilege of attending the Women in Fire Safety Awards 2025 as a guest of the visionary Gavin Skelly FCIOB MIConstM aFA of Fire Aware.

As the first Block Management company to join Fire Aware, we are proud to support their mission to drive cultural change across all sectors contributing to fire safety in the built environment.

In what is still a very male-dominated industry, it was inspiring to see so many incredible women being recognised for their achievements — and even better to hear their stories first-hand.

She was especially lucky to be seated with an inspiring and tenacious group of women who we are now delighted to now part of our network (and who we fully intend to turn to for advice and support… because let’s be honest, we all need it in this industry!).

At SWR, we are proud to be a team of 12 brilliant women. Together, we face the challenges of working in a male-heavy environment (with the occasional side serving of “mansplaining” 🙄), but we continue to achieve outstanding results for our clients — so much so that we currently have a 4+ month waiting list for new business.
